Advertorial: Eucerin Even Brighter Serum Concentrate Challenge: Week 4 (GIVEAWAY)

During the first trimester of my first pregnancy I suddenly developed oily, acne prone skin that would break out on a daily basis. It was also around this time that Eucerin launched their DermoPurifyer range. After discovering the range, I wouldn’t stop talking about it to anyone who would listen because it really helped to calm my skin down. I was definitely producing less sebum and my skin felt cleaner but most importantly, the break outs slowed down significantly. The DermoPurifyer cleanser is still a go-to for me today.

For this challenge I didn’t use the complete Eucerin Even Brighter range as my skin still suffers from occasional breakouts – I didn’t want to neglect dealing with the cause of my pigmentation (post inflammatory from fiddling with my pimples) – so I stuck with the DermoPurifyer Cleanser and Day Cream (to ease the breakouts) while using the Even Brighter Serum under my day cream (to treat the dark spots).

The Daily/Nightly Regimen:

I began with my cleanser, massaging it into damp skin and rinsing off with tepid water. I followed up with running a small block of ice around my face, concentrating on the inflamed parts (where a pimple threatens to appear) in lieu of a toner – or you can use the DermoPurifyer toner before applying the Even Brighter serum (morning and evening) on targeted affected areas. One ampule lasts roughly a week. Next is my daily moisturiser followed by sunscreen (for day) – I by far favour Eucerin’s Sun Gel-Creme Oil Control Dry Touch SPF 50. It is feather light, disappears into the skin and doesn’t leave a grey film on my complexion. In the evening I replace my day moisturiser with a repairing night cream.

 Before and after reveal

I went into this challenge fully aware that pigmentation is one of the most difficult skin conditions to effectively treat. I have definitely seen some fading on my dark marks and perhaps the difference would have been more drastic had I included the entire Even Brighter range. I would definitely encourage you to give it a try if you struggle with minor pigmentation and are looking for an effective at-home product. Available at Clicks and Dis-Chem pharmacies (all prices at end of post).
